Bridget's soccer practice

Bridget had her third soccer practice tonight. The first practice did not go well. About half way through the coach gave them a water break and Bridget came up to me crying that she wanted to go home. E talked her into returning to practice. At the end of practice she sat down in the car and yelled, "You can tell the coach that I will not be returning to practice!" Apparently everyone saw it, because a few of the mothers were asking me about it at the sock hop.

So the second practice went very well. E's pep talk worked and she really gave her all. Tonight the practice started off not so good. Thankfully, about 10 minutes into practice the coach patted her on the head and said something. E said she immediately perked up and really started trying much harder.

Owen spent the practice riding his scooter. While he was riding around, someone threw an apple into a ditch at the end of the parking lot. Owen looked at E in shock. "Did you see that?" After a brief pause he said, "Well, I guess it is biodegradable." Awwww, I'm so proud. My kids knows the difference between good garbage and 'bad' garbage AND is forming environmentally friendly values.

E and Owen have been playing a computer game called Civ lately. You basically build a civilization from one little tribe and expand to rule the world. Anyway, the game has many advisers that give information like a cabinet would assist the president. After riding the scooter got old, Owen was playing imaginary Civ against himself in the car. He was speaking to himself as an adviser. E said it was so funny to hear him use all these large words. What a vocabulary he is gaining just from playing a game!
