A good night's sleep

The kids finally got a good night's sleep! With a little reflection, they were able to understand how their lack of sleep had made them feel lousy. They woke up this morning and happily took baths. They were excellent at the chiropractor's office and made it through an entire lunch with my aunt Jeanne without argument! What a relief. They were actually friends again today.

Owen also initiated a change in his behavior today. He has been dealing with allergies including an itchy nose. His habit of rubbing his nose upward had resulted in a significant crease in the skin on the top of his nose. Today, out of nowhere, he told me he wanted to get rid of the crease on his nose and asked me what he could do. I offered him a tissue. In the end, he was very pleased that he felt in control of the situation. I know he will have an easy time changing his habit because it is important to him. He has a real gift for achieving things that he sets his mind to. I'm sure this will be no different. His problem is usually with admitting that something is embarrassing him. It looks like he is on his way to overcoming his fears in order to change the things that embarrass him and live his life confidently.
