Our plans fell through yesterday, so at the last minute we decided to meet up with some other home schoolers at a local river. Bridget did some fishing thanks to a friend who brought poles and bait.
Owen hunted for fish and tadpoles with a net and did some rock/fossil collecting.
One of the boys found a snake that Bridget entertained for much of the afternoon.
Overall it was a great afternoon. We ended up bringing home three tadpoles and a fish. So, we had to rush and set up a habitat. Out came the old aquarium.
They all four survived the night. The tank is completely full of fresh, clean, non chlorinated water and the filter is running... without a cartridge. We need to go get one of those today. The kids are very pleased with their new pets. However, they are a little frustrated that you can't play with them.
