First Games and Home School Picnic

The kids had their first official soccer games today. Bridget's game was first. They played against a team that was not as good as they were. So, after her team scored the third goal, the coach let girls play positions they normally don't get a chance to play. Consequently, Bridget got to play center. She was very happy. She scored a goal pretty quickly (her first goal in quite a while) and the coach took her out. She was subbed back in at the next available point and played sweeper. She was really happy with her game.

Owen's game did not go as well. The other team scored three goals on them. It was very obvious that Owen is still learning the positions and ball handling. E seemed to think is major problem was that he was not running and charging the ball. The funny thing was that he was running, just at the wrong times. He was playing front line and ran behind the ball at top speed as the other team headed toward the goal. I know it will all come together for him soon just like it did for Bridget.

After roasting in the hot sun all day, we packed up and headed to a home school picnic. We had a very good time seeing old friends and meeting new ones. One of my friends took these very cool pics of the kids. Bridget still has her loose tooth in her mouth. She seems to have forgotten about it.
